The pot filled with all the pulp, sugar and pectin, bubbling slowly, emitting a sugary sweet aroma of strawberry ooze and then the  caning of the jam afterwards in those cute little ball jars. We'd dip wonder bread in the pot for a treat and taste the hot, fresh jam while it cooked.
